WHAT IS THIS "SUPER FRUIT"?

Similar to a cross between a grape and a blueberry, the açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) berry is a small, reddish-purple drupe consisting of a cluster of seeds, with only around 15 percent or so being edible, harvested from tall, slender palm trees found around the Amazon River basin of South America. These berries are also quite perishable, but have significant nutritional attributes when eaten fresh.

WHAT IS Açaí?

The açaí berry is an inch-long, reddish-purple super fruit. It comes from the açaí palm tree, native to Central and South America. Açaí berries are filled with antioxidants, fiber, heart healthy fats and calcium. It helps the body to ward off heart disease, cancer cells, arthritis and cholesterol.

WHAT IS KALE?

Kale is a hardy, leafy green vegetable. It is rich in vitamins A, K and C, beta-carotene, calcium, along with carotenoids and sulforaphane, which are known for their cancer-fighting properties. It is known to be one of the healthiest greens around as it is high in iron and calcium, and packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

WHAT IS PITAYA?

Pitaya, also known as Dragon Fruit, is a superfruit indigenous to Central and South America. On the inside, its white or bright pink pulp is rich in nutrients. Dragon fruit contains many vitamins, including vitamin C, B1, B2 and B3. It is also full of minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus. In addition, it’s a good source of fiber, protein and omega essential fatty acids.

WHAT IS SPIRULINA?

Spirulina is an organism that grows in both fresh and saltwater. It is a type of cyanobacteria, which is often referred to as blue-green algae. Spirulina is one of the few plant-based sources of “complete protein.” It’s a good source of calcium, iron, magnesium, as well as vitamins A, E, and K. It boosts energy, reduces fatigue, and naturally suppresses appetite.

WHAT IS COCONUT?

A coconut is really a delicious and healthy fruit! A fleshy sweet meat is formed on the inside of the shell as the coconut matures and can be eaten raw or added to make other ingredients. Coconuts contain fatty acids with potent medicinal properties, supports immune system health with its anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and provides a natural source of quick energy.
